The Princess Anne Royal Wedding, Aitutaki

Re: the aforementioned ebay purchase...one of its interesting items :) I have never before heard of Aitutaki stamps, I am happy to have one example in my collection, even if purchased. 

Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands, north of Rarotonga. It has a population of approximately 2000, and is the second most visited of the Cook Islands. In 1972, Aitutaki established a separate postal service, and has issued its own stamps (mostly printed by Heraclio Fournier in Spain) since then. These issues are primarily intended for sale to collectors.

Dutch Royal Baptism

Its Dutch and its Royal - but for some reason I cannot find the year..! This week's Sunday Stamps topic is big life changes - among my covers this is the closest I could find, but there will be more examples in the postcards section :)

Negara Brunei Darussalam

This week's #129 Sunday Stamps are about presidents and kings - in retrospective I have posted many of those before, but this cover has been patiently waiting until now :) The stamps show the 29th and current Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, also the first and incumbent Prime Minister of the country.

This amazing cover from Thailand includes two stamps from a set of 8 issued in 2012 to celebrate the Queen Sirikit's 80th birthday - there are also two different cancellations. Many thanks to Nina! :)

Cayman Islands

One of the many great covers from Patrick's exotic travels ;) The stamp on the right is pretty obvious i think heh. I am especially thankful for the lizard stamp, which is from the gorgeous set of 5 'Darwin Initiative' issued in 2008 and showing the Little Cayman's Green Anole. Thanks so much Pat!

Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, Australia

This is the year that the Commonwealth celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of their queen Elizabeth II. A lovely set of stamps showing the queen then and now. Thank you Irene :)
