Francisco de Miranda, Venezuela

wow i was really hopeful when i started this blog..! High time to introduce some of the covers received...i am starting with a letter from my dear friend who travelled through south america with me and saw me off at the caracas airport. some weeks later he sent me a letter...which took 15 months to arrive! better late than never eh? It was sent from Santa Elena de Uairén, a small town near the border with Brazil and Guyana.
The stamp is a joint venezuela-france issue from 2009, showing the venezuelan revolutionary Francisco de Miranda :)

EUROPA 2012 - Latvia

Europa stamps are special stamps issued by European postal administrations (continuously since 1956) and bear the special EUROPA logo. Each year a different theme is chosen, which builds awareness of the common roots, culture and history, as well as promotes the common goals.

This is my 1st Europa cover for this year - ossuusso was kind to send covers from her short trip to Latvia in March. The theme for this year's Europa issue is 'Visit...' so we can see the main sights of the individual countries on the stamps ( it must be difficult to choose only a few..!)
Latvians suggest you to visit the National Opera in Riga :)
Thank you Heidi!

Welcome To My Covers Blog!

I am thinking now...what possessed me to start another blog?! Its a contageous thing. Even if noone reads my blog for days I still have a feeling of purposefulness, a sense of doing something that I will look back on with joy and fond memories. That, and I don't exchange many covers so perhaps I will be better in updating than on my postcards blog...! I hope my modest collection will still be worth checking out ;)
